Susan Isaacs creates textile sculptures and installations employing the fabrics she creates through printing first in traditional print media on paper, such as monoprints, which once she is satisfied with the outcome, she sends scanned images of these works off to be digitally printed on fabric. She also creates fabric from her small gouache paintings, and she produces fabric employing appliqué using her designed fabrics applied to commercially purchased fabric. Her imagery is often inspired by nature, but also demonstrates a love of abstract patterns. She considers herself a multimedia artist, as she creates prints, paintings, soft sculptures, installations, embroideries, and hand-made books.
